Sunday, Jan. 30th 2022 6:53 AM

A new study by researchers at the University at Buffalo and the University of California, Irvine, to be published in the September issue of the journal Pain, reveals that, for people with chronic back pain, having a little adversity in your life can be protective and beneficial.

If you’ve ever groaned, “Oh, my aching back!”, you are not alone. Back pain is one of the most common medical problems, affecting 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives. Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp pain. Acute back pain comes on suddenly and usually lasts from a few days to a few weeks. Back pain is called chronic if it lasts for more than three months.

Most back pain goes away on its own, though it may take awhile. Taking over-the-counter pain relievers and resting can help. However, staying in bed for more than 1 or 2 days can make it worse.

Share of Cost – Dental Insurance for Seniors Over 65

Wednesday, Oct. 7th 2020 10:59 AM

Because dental is not included in Original Medicare (unless medically necessary) or Medigap supplement plans, seniors must look elsewhere for dental care coverage.

One option is that you could enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, just be aware that dental benefits are usually limited to cleanings, exams, and bitewing X-rays. So make sure you know the benfits offered and the plan limitations on services

Another option is that you buy your own individual dental insurance plan. There are different dental insurance plan types. If you are low income or fixed budget you may want to review a dental HMO insurance plan as they are the more affordable dental insurance option.

However if you have a dentist you like to stay with that dose not accept dental HMO insurance plan the you will want to review dental PPO’s plan instead as they let you choose inside or outside plan proviers.

On our website shareofcost.com we provide both of these options in most states. Just enter your zip code in the quote box to review all our dental insurance options. If you have any question need help please call our customer service line at 310-534-3444 M-F 8am – 4pm Pacific Daylight Time

Share of Cost – Fruit Juice May be Bad for Your Teeth

Friday, Mar. 6th 2020 2:48 PM

There are good benefits to fruit juice, however just like soda they can still be harmful to your child teeth. According to the head of a leading Dentistry University in Australia, juices, contain citric acid which can dissolve the hard structures of your teeth, especially the exposed roots and the enamel, which leaves the inner parts of teeth exposed. This, in turn, leads to tooth sensitivity.

The healthiest drink you can have is water but you do not have to stop all other drinks. Just limit amounts of fruit juice and soda and drink out of a straw to limit contact on your teeth.

Share of Cost – Porcelain Crowns.

Monday, Mar. 2nd 2020 10:31 AM

Porcelain crowns are used for both cosmetic and restorative results for discolored, chipped or broken teeth. Yet, there are two factors to consider: First, porcelain crowns are more costly than other treatments and second, a crown requires the removal of a significant amount of tooth structure. On the other hand, crowns are stronger than the other cosmetic choices and can last for many years with good dental health habits. Porcelain crowns are reserved for permanent teeth that are fully erupted with the gum tissue at its adult position.
