Before patients are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, they often experience biological or psychological symptoms such as depression, according to a new study. Results were published online in Neurology.

This study included 2,416 adults who were at least 50 years old and had no cognitive problems when they first visited an Alzheimer’s disease center in the United States. Researchers gathered the information from the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center Uniform Data Set from September 2005 to March 2013.
